I like signs

So it's one of those usual days, I've cycled 20 or 30 miles and am already wondering "how much further?". If I'm lucky, I'll see one of those green signs that usually means I'm getting closer to a town and it might even have the mileage to the town to which I'm going. That way I could start counting down the mileage. That's the kind of head game that I do to be able to put in the usual 50 or 70 miles in.

"Funny" thing happened in Yellowstone National Park. (Here's some pics of Yellowstone:)

Woman at very edge of canyon.

This was her view below.
Since Yellowstone doesn't have signs till just before arriving to the turn off story their "villages", one day I was riding along and at one junction I mistakenly followed the sign that said "Yellowstone", I turned right to follow that, and 15 hilly & trafficky miles later I found out that I took the wrong turn! So I found and asked a park ranger for a lift- she couldn't help me. I then went to the parking lot to a gyser down the road. The second person I asked actually WAS going to where I needed to go, West Yellowstone,  Montana. They were such nice folks! They also saved me 30+ mileage to double back and go to MT. Here's us in MT in front of the hostel type hotel that I was going to stay in and some pics of the hotel front porch & inside their hallway.

Some signs that I've seen,  I've understood like "wildlife or bison  crossing", or "Caution, cows in the road". But I don't understand the speed signs in Montana. So many times I've seen on the highway a sign for 70 mph and not even 300 ft further down there's another sign for 60 mph - go figure.

Here are some funny, different type of signs I've seen throughout my trip:

I wasn't very happy that morning climbing the pass. I camped in the mtns the night before. I was cold & tired.

Till my next update, happy & safe trails!
😊
